SERVICE 03 – WEB DESIGN

Websites that survive a facility director’s 15-second credibility check.

Web design for fire and security contractors: one page per service line, license number where buyers look for it, and load times that don’t lose the call. Built on WordPress you own outright.

THE TEST

What does a property manager check in 15 seconds?

License number visible.

C-10, C-16, state license, without scrolling, without hunting.

The service they need, named in a headline.

The exact job in the buyer’s words, not “solutions for your safety needs.”

Proof of commercial work.

Buildings like theirs, not stock photos of handshakes.

A phone number that taps to call.

They’re on a phone, standing in a mechanical room.

Loads before they bounce.

Three seconds of white screen is a vote for your competitor.

Your site fails at least one of these. The audit will tell you which.

ARCHITECTURE

Found for every job you do, because that’s how buyers search.

A facility director looking for one specific job should land on the page for that exact job, not your homepage, not a generic services list. We structure the site around your revenue lines, so every search has a page and every page has a job.

→ A page for every job your buyers search for

→ Built to rank from day one, not retrofitted later

→ Every page pointed at the next step: the quote

CONVERSION

Engineered for the moment they decide to act.

The visit ends one of two ways: they contact you, or they hit the back button and call the next result. We design for the first outcome: short forms that ask only what’s needed to quote, clickable phone numbers everywhere, and proof elements placed exactly where doubt peaks.

→ Short forms. Friction kills commercial leads

→ Click-to-call on every screen

→ Trust signals (license, reviews, certifications) at every decision point

SPEED & SCHEMA

Fast enough to keep the visitor. Structured enough to be cited.

Page speed is a ranking factor, a conversion factor, and a credibility signal all at once. We build lean, with no bloated themes or plugin graveyards, and we mark every page up with the schema that helps Google and AI tools understand exactly what you do and where you do it.

→ Sub-second LCP targets, tested on real phones

→ FAQ and LocalBusiness schema on every page

→ Clean WordPress, no proprietary page-builder lock-in

THE ANATOMY

What every contractor service page needs. No exceptions.

indigotonesdigital.com
01 H1 names the service + city
02 License chip in the first viewport
03 Proof band: commercial work, real buildings
04 Service-area map
05 FAQ with schema markup
06 One form, three fields

Every page we build carries all six. When one is missing, there’s a reason, and you’ll know it.

OWNERSHIP

WordPress you own outright.

No proprietary builder holding your site hostage
Your hosting, your logins, your domain, from day one
Leave anytime. The site goes with you, working.

You’ve seen what happens when a contractor tries to leave an agency that “owns” the website. We built our terms so that conversation never happens.

THE PROCESS

Four steps from audit to launch.

01

Audit & architecture

Current-site teardown, keyword map, page plan per service line.

02

Design in your trade’s language

Layouts and copy written for your buyers, property managers, GCs, facility directors.

03

Build & migrate

Lean WordPress build; rankings and redirects protected during the move.

04

Launch + 30-day tune

Live, monitored, and adjusted against real visitor behavior for the first month.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Web design questions, answered straight.

Should we rebuild our site or start from scratch?

Depends what the current site has earned. If it holds rankings and backlinks, we rebuild on that foundation and protect the equity. If it’s an outdated brochure with no search presence, starting clean is usually cheaper than renovating. The audit answers this for your specific site.

How long does a contractor website take to build?

Most builds run four to eight weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on how many service lines and locations you have. You’ll have a dated schedule before we start, and a working staging site to review well before launch.

Do you write the copy, or do we have to?

We write it. Our team came from inside the fire and security industry, so the pages come out speaking NFPA, ITM, and AHJ without a glossary from you. You review and correct; you don’t draft.

What happens to our Google rankings during the migration?

We map every existing URL, set redirects before launch, and monitor rankings daily through the transition. Done properly, migrations protect what you’ve earned, the contractors who get burned are the ones whose agency skipped the redirect map.

Who hosts the site, and what happens if we leave?

Your hosting account, your name, your card. We’ll recommend hosts we trust and set everything up, but the logins are yours from day one. If you leave, nothing happens to the site, that’s the point.
